Terms & Conditions

For 99% of our customers these policies will never come into play and they will have no issue with our Terms & Conditions. These Terms & Conditions are in place to protect us (and you) from the 1% of people who inhabit the planet that are impossible to deal with, completely unreasonable or just mental. If you've ever worked with the public you'll know the exact type of person we're talking about. Should we allow these people to "take advantage“, their actions would result in higher pricing on Adjustable Beds and Mattresses for everyone! Our good customers shouldn’t have to pay to cover the unnecessary expenses caused by the actions of a few.

Leggett & Platt Adjustable Beds

When you order a Leggett & Platt Adjustable Bed from an Authorized Dealer like Richmond Bedding, your bed is shipped directly to your home from Leggett & Platt. Like all other Dealers, your adjustable bed is not eligible for return to Richmond Bedding or Leggett & Platt. Before finding our website, most of our customers have done all the necessary homework and research. They have learned that Leggett & Platt makes the best adjustable beds and has done so for a longer period of time than any other manufacturer. They have also decided that an adjustable bed manufactured by Leggett & Platt is the only one they want for their home. Most customers have visited a retail showroom to check out the beds and know exactly what they are buying. That should eliminate the question of: “What if I get the bed and don’t like it?”

Another question often asked is: “What if I receive the bed and something’s wrong with it?” Leggett & Platt has a service network of over 600 locations nationwide. They will dispatch a technician to your home to fix whatever might be wrong. This would be completely free to you since the Leggett & Platt Warranty on all models includes Parts & Labor for the first year. We experience very few instances when a bed is delivered with defects.

Can I cancel my order? - Orders can be cancelled at no cost ONLY within the first 24 hours of the order being placed. Cancellation in the first 24 hours MUST be in an email response to the same email address as you received your order confirmation, and MUST be followed with a phone call to (804) 859-8000 to confirm your cancellation email has been received. Cancellation after the first 24 hours will incur a 25% restocking fee. If you cancel after the 24 hour period and the bed has shipped, you will also be responsible for the actual shipping costs to your address as well as the actual cost of return shipping to Leggett & Platt. Richmond Bedding does NOT profit from these restocking fees or shipping charges. These are true costs incurred and Richmond Bedding WILL NOT absorb these fees. Refusal of delivery will be interpreted the same as cancellation of order and the above rules will apply.

Richmond Bedding guarantees that we will place your order in a timely manner, usually the same day. We are not responsible for manufacturing or shipping time. Occasionally vendors may take a little more time to produce and ship your goods because of weather, supply line interruptions or other issues. Once your goods are shipped, the shipping or delivery company is responsible for timely delivery of goods to your home. Richmond Bedding is not liable for damages or costs to you as a result of any delays in the manufacturing, shipping or delivery of your goods. We will make every effort to assist you with any issues you may have with the manufacturer, shipper or delivery company, but ultimately we can only control our actions, not those of other companies.

Most beds will be in your home within two to three weeks, sometimes sooner. Some models require a little more manufacturing time and therefore may take a few more days to reach your home. If you choose to use White Glove Service this will sometimes add one or two additional days to the time from order to in-home delivery and set-up.

Curbside Deliveries will be scheduled for a four-hour window and the goods will be delivered on your property at Ground Level. Goods are usually deposited on driveway or sidewalk. Curbside delivery personnel will not cross a threshold or climb a stair. Customer is responsible for inspecting goods for damages and noting damages on the delivery paperwork. Any delay in manufacturing or shipping is not an acceptable reason to cancel an order.

White Glove Service includes the following: scheduling the delivery for a four-hour window, two installers, inspection of goods for damage, moving of goods into home up to two flights of stairs to room of customer’s choice, removal of product from shipping materials, positioning of product into bed frame or customer requested position (depending on model), connection to power outlet, verify unit is operational (just that it responds to the remote, NOT every function or feature) and removal of all shipping debris. Customer is responsible for providing an unobstructed path to the room as well as an unobstructed space in the room for setup.

Delivery personnel are not responsible for customer training. If you want two bases “synced” to operate as one unit we suggest reading the Owner's Manual before the delivery of your bed and familiarize yourself with the procedure. Owner's manuals, in PDF form, are available on every model page on our website..  Delivery personnel are not responsible for “programming” of bases, fitment of headboard brackets or attaching to customer’s headboard. Delivery personnel are not authorized to alter either your bed frame or the adjustable platform. Removal of old mattresses and box springs (not an old adjustable bed) is available for an additional fee.

On models designed to install into an existing bed frame, customer is responsible for removal of all slats, support legs, braces..etc..prior to the arrival of the delivery. Your bed needs to have nothing that can interfere with the installation or operation of the adjustable base. This basically means you should have a big opening to the floor with your bed frame surrounding the opening. The customer, not Richmond Bedding or Leggett & Platt is responsible for determining the suitability of their bed frame and for the proper clearance for the new adjustable base.

Luxury Airbeds

Comfortaire Airbeds can be returned after 30 days from the date of delivery and before the first 100 days. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the consumer. We recommend that you keep all shipping cartons and materials for a minimum of 30 days. If you decide to return the bed to Comfortaire you will need the cardboard boxes and plastic. Comfortaire mattresses must be returned in "as new" condition to receive a full refund. We don't charge a Restocking Fee for Comfortaire mattresses.

Innomax Airbeds can be returned during the first 90 days. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the consumer. Innomax Airbeds must be returned in original packaging. Airbeds returned in "As New" undamaged condition will qualify for a full refund minus a $200 restocking fee, OR a one-time comfort exchange. Special Orders are non-returnable.

If you "exchange" an Airbed for any other mattress we offer, this will count as your "one-time" comfort exchange as explained in the 90 Day Mattress Guarantee section below..

90 Day Mattress Guarantee
Shipped Mattresses - Non Airbeds

We want everyone to be satisfied with their new mattress, so we offer you a 90 Day One-Time Comfort Exchange. Most of our customer’s love their new mattress from day one, but for some it takes a little longer. If you’re getting a new mattress after sleeping on one that’s been in use for years, it might take a little time to get used to the increased support your new mattress is providing.

If after 60 days you are not satisfied with your new mattress, call us at 804-859-8000 for a Return Authorization (RA). We will issue the RA for your mattress anytime from the 60th day until the 90th day after your new mattress has been delivered. Non Airbed mattresses can be shipped in either the original shipping materials or suitable alternatives. We recommend the mattress to be wrapped in plastic, then cardboard. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the consumer. Please note that you are responsible for damages caused by improper packaging. All returned mattresses must be in “As New” condition. When mattresses are received they will be inspected and mattresses with any stains will not qualify for the Comfort Exchange.

When your mattress is received, and passes inspection, you will be issued a store credit in the amount of your mattress purchase. This credit can be applied to mattresses of equal or greater value but if applied to a higher priced mattress, you will be responsible paying the price difference.

We STRONGLY SUGGEST you use a shipping service that utilizes a Tracking Number as Richmond Bedding will NOT be responsible for lost return shipments. If the shipper you choose either loses or damages your mattress you will need to file a claim or seek any other course of reimbursement available to you. Since we are not the shipper on return items, the shipping company owes us nothing. We will cooperate with you in seeking reimbursement if the return is damaged by the shipper, including noting damages with the driver and furnishing you or the shipper digital pictures of the damages via email. We will not mail printed pictures by regular mail.


Showroom Mattress Purchases

Mattresses sold in our showroom are not qualified for return for any reason other than manufacturing defects with the exception of the Comfortaire Airbeds which have their own return policy stated above. If your mattress is defective it will be handled under the manufacturer's Warranty Program. The return policies above are in place for our online shoppers who are not able to try the mattresses before they receive them. When you buy a mattress from our showroom you are making a choice based upon your opinion and preferences. You can look, feel, lay on and decide what feels good to you. You have an advantage that our online customers do not.

Retail stores (like Macys) that allow returns charge a LOT more for their mattresses than Richmond Bedding. They charge more to cover the expense of returned mattresses. We don't charge a lot for our mattresses and therefore cannot absorb the cost of returns. It's been our experience that most people would prefer to get a good deal rather than pay for the returns incurred by other customers.


Website Errors or Omissions

We try our absolute best to try and maintain the accuracy and completeness of all items offered on our website. Occasionally one of our manufacturers may change their specifications of an item and we haven't been notified. Sometimes they will change "What's In The Box" without notifying us in a timely manner. We update the appropriate information IMMEDIATELY upon notification.

However, it is possible that from time to time an error may exist on our website. We try our hardest to prevent this but it's just part of doing business online and sourcing goods from multiple vendors. If an error should be "substantial" we'll gladly work with you. If an error is very "minor" in nature we'd ask that you work with us.


Exceptions To These Terms & Conditions

There are no exceptions. By purchasing from Richmond Bedding you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions. These are the ONLY applicable Terms and Conditions and CANNOT be modified unless in writing by the Owner of Richmond Bedding. NO verbal agreement shall supersede these Terms & Conditions.
